Artist John Coburn Celebrates Toronto with Massive Drawing

Canadian artist John Coburn loves drawing cities.

For over 40 years he’s been drawing cityscapes in his signature Pen & Ink drawing style, he’s been featured in 4 books about Manhattan and is best known for his work in Healing Hearts, a book of drawings sent out to families who lost loved ones after 9/11.

His next exhibition along with recent Paris & London drawings features what could easily be the largest drawing of Toronto in history, it’s 12 ft long!!

” I was given access to the 25th floor at Bay & Queen ( Simpson Tower ) and drew my brains out for 6 months – my view faced 360 degrees so I could draw the city from every direction ! It features just about every high rise there is downtown as well as capturing Queen St East all away out to the beaches and Queen st West running to Parkdale.” – John Coburn
