UHN Doctor Pioneers Bionic Eye, Restores Sight to the Blind

Dr. Robert Devenyi, the University Health Network‘s ophthalmologist-in-chief, pioneers a technology to restore sight to the blind. It’s called the Argus II a.k.a. ‘The Bionic Eye’.

Until now, if you were one of the 1.5 million people around the world who suffer from Retinitis Pimentosa (a degenerative eye disease) you could expect a future of vision loss and, often, total blindness.
