On Tuesday, January 27th we wish Mozart a happy 259th birthday! To celebrate, Mike Duncan has shared his top 3 favourite moments from Mozart’s musical legacy.

1. Final movement of the Sinfonia Concertante for Violin and Viola. So much sheer joy in this that it can hardly contain itself.

2. Slow movement from the Flute and Harp Concerto – truly one of the most beautiful things Mozart ever wrote.

3. Anything from the “Jupiter” Symphony. Really a crowning achievement that goes so far beyond his contemporaries and jumps right into Beethoven’s realm.
