It’s the most wonderful time of the year, especially for classical music lovers!

Station News2016-11-22By: Paul Thomas

The holidays are the perfect time to listen to all the special “Holiday Music” on The New Classical FM as well as taking in live performances  – whether it’s a sing-a-long Messiah, The Nutcracker, or one of the many operas, symphonies and chamber pieces being performed across the country.

I’m convinced one reason classical music thrives in Canada is because of our infamous cold winters. Many of us find warmth in opera houses and concert halls. We show up, en masse, ready to be warmed and wowed as devoted audiences to both our home-grown and world class musicians. If you’ve seen classical music performed live, you know how much a good performance can bring the music to life –  recordings just can’t compare. If you haven’t seen classical music performed live, you need to find out what you are missing!

So this winter, when you’re not at home listening to The New Classical FM,  I encourage you to go out and take in one (or more) of the many live classical concerts that will be happening across the country! As always, if you have any questions or comments please feel free to email me anytime at: [email protected]
