Collingwood Spotlights, Community Spotlights
There’s a quiet place near Collingwood’s waterfront where trees are the stars. It all started over 20 years ago when the Collingwood Garden Club transformed a former landfill into a beautiful Arboretum.
Today the Arboretum is home to over a hundred and seventy trees and shrubs. Most are living memorials to friends and relatives who have passed away, and there are plaques with dedications and tree descriptions.
The memorial fountain and large pavilion are popular spots for photos. And there are lots of places to stop and relax, take in the view, or access the water.
It’s a peaceful little corner of nature, lovingly tended by a team of volunteers. Truly the heart of the town.
