1867, Alex Muir was inspirited to write the song “The Maple Leaf Forever” by a huge maple tree on the property of his Toronto home. This song served for many years as an unofficial Anthem. The Cobourg and District Historical Society is celebrating The Maple Leaf Tuesday May 30th 6:15pm at Victoria Hall in Cobourg. “The Colourful History Of The Canadian Flag” presented by their President Alison Torrie Lapaire. You can enjoy The Town Crier, photo’s with a Mountie, the delightful sounds and of St. Mary’s Choir and The Treblemakers.
