It began in 2009, inspired by Orillia’s Festival Of Banners at the first “Streets Alive” Event. Artists “Live on the Street” transforming large scale banners. The Event was a huge success and today has grown into a popular annual Summer Art Event for locals, cottagers and tourists. Each year the event features a different themed project. This year the theme is “Maple Masterpieces” celebrating the 150th Anniversary of both Canada and Orillia! There are 50 talented artists who have created 50 beautiful unique maple sculptures.
They will be on display all summer long in Orillia. The Artists have let their imagination and creativity run wild. Their canvas is a double-sided metal maple-shaped template and the results are incredible.
