Fresh snow and a crisp sunny winters day create the perfect conditions for snowshoeing. Minimal equipment is required and it’s easy to learn for the whole family. Historically, snowshoe’s were indispensible for people to survive during winter months whether hunting, trapping or moving short and long distances. The shape, size and materials they used varied with the trees, animals, snow conditions and terrain within a particular region. Today, it’s a magical way to explore the winter landscape in our listening area.
Bruce, Grey and Simcoe have numerous picturesque trails, parks and conservation areas perfect for snowshoeing this winter. For more information on how to create your winter adventure visit Ontario Trails
