During the 1950s, the West Side and South Side Chicago blue’s joints lit up the night. There was The Checkerboard Lounge, Castle Rock, The Rat Trap to Turners Lounge. The musical sounds of Magic Sam, Muddy Waters, Otis Rush, Freddie King to Baby Face Leroy spilled out onto the streets. Left handed Eddy “The Chief” Clearwater is also a Chicago legend. He was
inspired by some of the world’s greatest bluesmen. Eddie is an intense, flamboyant blues-rocker with his gritty West Side shuffles, belly-grinding slow blues riffs to soulful vocals. Eddie Clearwater is performing at Simcoe Street Theatre in Collingwood, Saturday May 12 at 7pm. For more information and to purchase tickets you can visit What’s On Simcoe Street
