The Gravenhurst Opera House officially opened it’s doors on March 12th 1901. That evening there were more than 400 visitors; which was about one-fifth of the entire population of the town file through the front doors. The building was quite a lavish dream for a town of its size; surviving one depression, two world wars and a few storms.
Today, The Gravenhurst Opera House continues to be a cornerstone for Arts, Culture and Heritage in Muskoka and sad to be the birthplace of Summer Theatre. Their Summer Season Gala is Friday May 25th and will be an evening of star studded entertainment in celebration of another great upcoming Summer Season.
The 2018 lineup includes Abba Magic, Sunday Morning Soul Show , the play Souvenir, Internationally renowned Pavlo, The Sawdust City Music Festival, Legends Of The Toronto All Star R & B Revue to Motown Gold which is the live musical celebration of the legendary record label.
