If this were a photograph, I’d attribute it to Mother Nature: World’s Greatest Artist.
It is, however, a magnificantly painted depiction of the Far North by the one and only Robert Bateman.
I find it good fun that an artist internationally known for his paintings of wildlife, has in this case chosen to put his whales in the distance – though he has them VERY prominently positioned.
I saw a number of these lovely beings on a trip to Haida Gwaii several years ago, but though I kept my camera – with a lense the length of my arm – at the ready for hours, the pod kept its distance…
