Yoga is here to stay. It’s a 5000-year-old practise designed to unite mind, body and breath, and it can be particularly good for increasing strength, flexibility and balance as we age. But these days just about anyone can call themselves a yoga instructor, so here are some tips.
Check out the teacher’s credentials. How long have they been teaching, are they certified? Make sure they are aware of your medical history and any injuries you have. A good teacher should offer alternate exercises if there’s anything that causes you pain. Make sure your class isn’t too big and get references.
