Carotenoids for Skin

They’re called carotenoids, and you can find them in leafy greens, broccoli, zucchini, and other yellow-green veggies. We’ve known for a long time that they’re great for the eyes. Now it looks like they can also help maintain youthful skin. Women in a study took two different carotenoids as supplements and their skin showed better hydration and improved elasticity. The result was even better when they used lotions with the nutrients. More research is needed to confirm the role of carotenoids in skin health. But you can’t go wrong by adding them to your diet. We already know they can ward off cataracts.
