Container Gardening

Gardening season is here, and you can have your own green space even if you have no ground space because you’re surrounded by concrete in an apartment, townhouse or condo. Eric Zamit of the Toronto botanical Garden is a big advocate of container gardens.

One of the key trends this year is edible gardening. You can save on your grocery bills while bringing fresh, pesticide-free food to your table. A wide variety of tomatoes, vegetables and herbs can grow perfectly well all season long in containers.

And you don’t have to spend a fortune on containers. Zamit suggests something like an old blue box, which has great depth and drainage holes.
