Shingles

It’s a painful condition that mostly affects Zoomers. Shingles causes blisters and rashes usually on one side of the body. Now there’s a new vaccine called ZOSTAVAX. Dr. Jeffrey Ashley was the first doctor in Toronto to administer it. He says it would prevent half of all shingles cases. What may be even more important is how it affects the aftermath of a shingles attack.

He says anyone who’s ever had chicken pox is susceptible to shingles. As a matter of fact he figures up to 50% of those people will eventually get it. The vaccine is now widely available in doctors’ offices and clinics.
