16 Year old Torontonian Pianist, Anastasia Rizikov, Wins Gold in Spain

On April 17, 2015, 16 Year old Anastasia Rizikov won the Gold Medal and all other prizes and honours in the 57th Annual Jaén International Piano Competition in Spain. The Toronto born pianist was the youngest musician in the competition and celebrates being the youngest prize winner in the history of the competition. The Jaén Prize is recognized in the World Federation of International Music Competitions, and the International Music Council (UNESCO) since 1966.

Rizikov began her studies at age five, and since then has shown unparalleled dedication to both practice and performance. Despite her young age she is already widely recognized across Canada and abroad as a pianist of deep intelligence, sensitivity and a leading artist of her generation.

FIRST PRIZE:

1) Gold Medal, Diploma

2) A Compact Disc recording with the record label Naxos

3) “ROSA SABATER” PRIZE, Diploma for the best interpretation of Spanish music

4) “CONTEMPORARY MUSIC” PRIZE, Diploma for the best interpretation of the compulsory work

5) “AUDIENCE PRIZE,” Bronze Sculpture

6) Anastasia Rizikov will also perform two concerts, one of them with the Orquestra Ciudad de Granada, and the other at the Tsai Performing Arts Center, Boston University, (USA)
