The Toronto Consort Plays the Music of the Animals

The Toronto Consort’s upcoming program A Musical Bestiary will encompass many pieces that show the influence of animals in early music. It will celebrate creatures of the earth, sea and sky and even some mythical beasts. Curator of the critters, Alison Melville, spoke to our host Alexa Petrenko about this upcoming concert:

The program will feature the voices of five Consort members as well as music played on the lute, early guitar, viola de gamba, recorder and flute. A Musical Bestiary takes place at Trinity St Paul’s United Church on Friday March 23rd and Saturday March 24th.
