Written by and starring Melody A. Johnson, Miss Caledonia is a one woman show that explores a farm girl’s escape from rural Ontario by entering as many pageants as possible. The story is based on Johnson’s own mother’s aspirations to become a star, like her idols Debbie Reynolds and Lee Meriwether, by entering pageant after pageant.
Johnson spoke to Jean Stilwell and Mike Duncan about the play and her personal connection to the story.
Miss Caledonia is on now until November 22nd at the Tarragon Theatre. For more information visit tarragontheatre.com.
