On Thursday, April 23rd, at 1:30 PM we will interview
Dr. Devin Therien, specialist in the field of 17th to 19th-century European art, and curator of the Illuminations: Italian Baroque Masterworks in Canadian Collections at The Art Gallery of Hamilton.
This exciting exhibit aims to shine a new light on Italian Baroque painting. Unlike many other exhibitions of Italian Baroque art, Illuminations brings together a variety of subjects that directly reflect the diversity of the times, through past and present.
“Who would have thought scenes of gamblers and pickpockets were equally popular among collectors of religious and mythological art?”
The exhibition opening on Saturday, February 28th, 2015.
