Cronkite shed tears during the announcement.
The Warren Commission laid the blame on a single gun man, Lee Harvey Oswald, who was shot to death by Jack Ruby at Dallas Police Headquarters two days later.
Kennedy was the 35th President of the United States. He was fatally shot in Dealy Plaza, in Dallas, Texas, while traveling in a motorcade with his wife, Texas Governor John Connolly and his wife.
