Carl Orff (Born: July 10, 1895 – Died: March 29, 1982)
Carl Orff was a German composer, best known for his cantata Carmina Burana. In addition to his career as a composer, Orff developed an influential approach toward music education for children.
His works for the stage contained much variety, he combined inspiration from Medieval mystery plays, Bavarian folk tales, fairy tales and Greek tragedies.
The Orff-Schulwerk, an educational concept for elemental education in music and movement which has been disseminated worldwide in over thirty countries, it has had a significant impact on musical education for children around the world for over fifty years.
