Jewish Music Week in Toronto is an exciting week of concerts, recitals and musical events throughout the GTA. 2018 marks the eighth year of this festival that celebrates Jewish music, as well as the Jewish contribution to genres of music not generally thought of as Jewish.
This “Live from Zoomer Hall” concert series features the Berkovksy-Mirzoev-Sarid Trio in a program of high-energy works by classical Jewish and Israeli composers. A fun mix of traditional classical repertoire and classical jazz, today’s concert featured Felix Mendelssohn’s first and third movements of his Piano Trio No. 1 in D minor; Paul Schoenfield’s Cafe Music: Allegro and Rubato – Andante Moderato; and Illan Rechtman’s Jazzicals: Sweet, Cool, and Gay.
