Canada Day Countdown: Our Hosts Reflect Upon Some Canadian Greats

Canada Day Countdown: Our Hosts Reflect Upon Some Canadian Greats featured image

Canada Day is almost here, and all of our hosts took a moment to celebrate and toast some of Canada’s most memorable classical musicians. On July 1 all day, we’ll be broadcasting the best of Canada’s performers, conductors, and composers. This week features favourite artists in the words of our on-air hosts. Enjoy, and have a great Canada Day long weekend coming up!

Your All Time Classical Hit Parade, Vision TV, Fridays, 8:30 PM

How wonderful that so many of our brilliant Canadian musical performers are internationally acclaimed, and since fame is already assured, I’m going to turn my attention to The Zoomer Players, whom I believe are equally brilliant, though not (as yet) well known.

My choice is unashamedly biased. The ZPs perform on “Your All-Time Classic Hit Parade”, a new show I created for Vision TV last year which has been warmly – nay – enthusiastically received by our audience!

David Warrack (who seems to have been born with a grand piano attached to his hands) is our arranger and Musical Director; Percussionist Kevin Coady; legendary bass player, Dave Young; and renowned violinist Moshe Hammer. Our singers are Judy Marshak (a singer/actress with a dimple in her voice); singer/actors Thom Allison and Simon Spiro (who is also a Cantor); and The Ault Sisters, our “youth contingent”, who sing three-part harmony. We’re on Vision TV every Friday at 8:30 pm. Please join us!
