Has the Chris Columbus film “Home Alone” become a holiday classic for you and your family? Because it’s back – this time as a presentation with the live score performed by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra! The film stars Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern, John Heard, and Catherine O’Hara. Legendary film composer John Williams composed the score. Here’s what he had to say about these concerts: “I took great pleasure in composing the score for the film, and I am especially delighted that the magnificent Toronto Symphony Orchestra has agreed to perform the music in a live presentation of the movie … and I hope that the audience at this performance will experience the renewal of joy that the film brings with it, each and every year. ”

Most film scores are recorded by an orchestra, and you may not realize the extent of the role classically-trained musicians play until you hear them live as you watch the screen. Check out this holiday classic  all this week!
