We’re sad to share that Maestro Kerry Stratton has been diagnosed with ALS.

We are saddened to share the news that Kerry Stratton’s decision to step down from hosting “The Oasis” is a result of his diagnosis of ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). He will continue his weekly program “Conductor’s Choice” which airs Sundays at 3 pm. We are devastated by this news; Kerry has been a vital part of our on-air family for decades, known for his intimate knowledge of classical music and timeless literary quotes.

Kerry is also well-respected in the classical music community. He’s a conductor that has lead orchestras around the world, and currently the music director and conductor of Toronto Concert Orchestra, a passion he will continue to pursue.

The fight ahead for Kerry won’t be easy, for him or his family – his wife, two sons, and teenage daughter. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up by his friend Alexandra Moorshead. We invite all our listeners to follow Kerry’s journey and show their support by visiting gofundme.com/supportkerrystratton
