Dr. Ritesh Patel of the Ontario Association of Optometrists visited “Classical Mornings” with Mike and Jean to chat about overall eye health all what you can do to maintain healthy eyes and clear vision. He chatted about his childhood dream of becoming an eye doctor, the joy of helping people see clearly, and the importance of being proactive. Most folks don’t visit the eye doctor until there’s an issue, and it’s important to schedule regular visits for preventative care (especially when it comes to cataracts, glaucoma, etc.). Also worthy to note – the kids in your life. 80% of children learn visually, and many don’t realize there’s a problem until after the correction with new glasses. (I recall to this day my first pair of glasses and gasping when I could see the trees on the mountains, and being able to read the street signs from afar).
Regular eye exams are important! May is Vision Health Month, so if you can’t remember when your last eye exam was, look into it! (See what I did there?)
