The Fifth Canadian Chopin Piano Competition runs through to Thursday, August 29th at the Royal Conservatory in Toronto. The Canadian Chopin Society puts this prestigious event together every 5 years… This year’s preliminary rounds were held at Mazzoleni Hall and finals will go at Koerner Hall.

The top three prizes of the Senior Division include application fees, airfare and accommodation to participate in the Preliminary Round of the 18th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, Poland.

It’s an outstanding opportunity for young performers, and the perfect way to become intimately familiar with the works of the beloved composer.

Founder and Artistic Director of the Canadian Chopin Society and Senior Director of Academic Programs Dr. Janet Lopinski joined Mark Wigmore on The Oasis.
