Tafelmusik and Vesuvius Ensemble bring Christmas to the Italian Countryside with ‘O Come, Shepherds’ featured image

The Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra will be with the Vesuvius Ensemble and special guests beginning December 4th… Starting at Jeanne Lamon Hall, Trinity-St. Paul’s Centre, and then at George Weston Recital Hall. The programme is titled O Come, Shepherds. This is a holiday event that is meant to evoke the pastoral Italian countryside, and to do that, the orchestra will use exotic Zampogna. It’s a folk instrument, not unlike the bagpipes, and often used around the holidays. So what you will get is the Vesuvius ensemble, with Tafelmusik, but with mandolins and traditional guitars and other little seen instruments, taking you to South Italy…
