Do you know Cecilia Bartoli? Because you should. This freak of nature mezzo soprano (mid-range female voice) is a coloratura (voice type of extreme vocal agility), a categorization usually reserved for sopranos (the highest pitch range for female opera singers).  She performs both in operas and in concert with orchestra, and is known for her exuberant stage presence. Watch how she channels the music of Vivaldi in the “Olando furioso” (“Furious Olando”). She is so spectacular she receives an ovation after her opening note.

Have a terrific Saturday afternoon!
