The Canadian Opera Company launched its 20-21 season last night, with noted soprano Simone Osborne hosting from the stage. Richard Wagner’s mammoth Parsifal kicks off the season, a production involving 100 singers, an orchestra double the usual size, and a six-hour running time. The rest of the season features Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, Bizet’s Carmen, Janacek’s Katya Kabanova, Verdi’s La Traviata, and Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice.
The COC also launched Vox, aimed at young opera goers aged 19 – 40.
Details are available at the COC’s website.
Congratulations to the Canadian Opera Company!
