Musicians all over the world continue to make music during hard times, or have already made videos before the pandemic, and would like to reach out.
Vince Conaway, hammered dulcimer:
Rory McLeod, of Pocket Concerts:
We’re using this opportunity to feature Canadian artists we wouldn’t otherwise be able to present at Pocket Concerts. Ticket holders for these Livestreams will receive an unlisted YouTube link the day before the broadcast, and the link will be available for 12 hours. Ticket proceeds will allow us to continue to pay our artists during this precarious time.
Canadian soprano Rachel Fenlon accompanies herself on the piano in a variety of challenging Art Song repertoire. Broadcast live on YouTube from Rachel’s home in Berlin. Make yourself a latte or pancakes (or both), sit back, and enjoy! If you’re tuning in from Europe or elsewhere, we’ll leave it up to you to find the appropriate beverage to enhance your experience (no judgement, we promise!).
Margaret Maria, cellist:
During this difficult period, Margaret Maris is releasing a new album of healing music. Album link here.
Violinst Paulina Derbez plays the calming Arvo Part with pianist Araceli Salazar.
Victoria Gydov, soprano, sings “Un bel di, vedremo” from Madama Butterfly .
Belle Voci a capella choir, lead by Paula DeWit, sings “Lay a Garland” by Pearsell.
“…especially in times of adversity, it is important to keep making beautiful music and show our humanity by staying connected”. Paula DeWit- Music Director. The Belle Voci choir created this virtual video for its supporters with the hopes our music will reach everyone world wide.
