This in from the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs:
“For many years the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs have presented sacred music on Easter Saturday from Mozart’s Requiem to Bach’s Mass in B minor. In 2020, our 100th year, we were to present the 1724 version of Bach’s St. John Passion on period instruments in the Sydney Town Hall with a choir of 40 singers. It was with a heavy heart that we cancelled this performance due to the coronavirus but we could not let Holy Week pass without some Bach. Even if we had to do it all in splendid isolation! Please enjoy this isolated performance of Ruht Wohl from the St. John Passion which the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs and Orchestra dedicate to everyone who is suffering in this terrible crisis. Special thanks to Susan Gandy, Orchestral Manager.”
