Tapestry Opera’s Artistic Director Michael Mori on their New “Cancellation Immune” 2020/21 season

Tapestry Opera already had a solid reputation as an innovative operation dedicated solely to creating, developing and performing original Canadian opera. We learned last week that the team at Tapestry have created a 2020/21 season that is immune to cancellation. So what does that mean? Well, the season is designed to withstand the uncertainty of the times ahead and will premiere new digital commissions, feature monthly live-streamed performances by leading theatre and musical creators. The Season will culminate in a FREE, in-person world premiere in June 2021.

This digital-forward season will make opera more accessible by presenting stages without borders, where audiences from across Canada and around the world can discover and tune in to live concerts, award-winning operas and those new commissions, featuring great Canadian artists.
