Grassroots Heroes – Breaking Down Barriers

For 35 years, Breaking Down Barriers has been providing support services, programs and resources for people with disabilities – helping them participate without barriers in all aspects of society.

The Independent Living Resource Centre empowers people with disabilities by providing information, options, control over decision making, skills development and peer support. It’s community based, responding to local needs and fostering partnership with other local agencies to address accessibility, independence, dignity and equal opportunity.

Like most charities, Breaking Down Barriers has been faced with unprecedented challenges and a growing need during this time.
