The Good Life
If the weakness in the U.S. real estate market is making you worry about property here in Canada, consider these latest numbers. Not only is there no sign of a drop, but prices are continuing to go up all across the country, on average more than ten per cent over last year. Here in Toronto, the average price of a home jumped $14,000 in one month October to nearly $395,000, and there was a similar increase in the hamilton-Burlington area. The priciest real estate in the country is still in Vancouver, it rose $8000 the top $590,000. What’s the hottest market? The biggest gains in values in October were in Saskatoon and Regina. Prices there skyrocketed more than 50 per cent.
