A friend had made a reservation, and I was very much looking forward to this Parisian influenced spot which focuses on drinks and goods made out of chocolate. A perfect spot for the older sensualist, as well as the Ladies Who Lunch crowd. Indeed, it looked delightful, but the music was unbearably loud and heavy on the percussion. There was no where in the delightful-looking interior to escape it even a modicum, and the outdoor patio was equally impossible. When we asked (politely,of course) if the music could be moderated somewhat, we were told that the volume has been set by the proprietor and is NOT to be changed for any reason. I don’t know whether the that person is trying to attract a younger crowd than any which would have me as a member. It seemed a perfect fit for someone like me. Anyway, it was not meant to be. We left, leaving word for the owner that – in our opinion – however many people he thought would be attracted to the establishment because of their choice of music; that’s as many as would be turned away by it. Too bad! I LIKE chocolate!
