This week on ‘A Little Night Music’ Kathleen Kajioka takes a closer looks at John Field.
Born in Dublin in 1782, Field’s life would change when his family moved to London. There he met piano teacher and builder Muzio Clementi and, under his wing, quickly became among the most sought after pianists in Europe. As a composer, he would develop the Nocturne – that serene, cozy bed of a musical form that Chopin would later make famous.
Tune in to “A Little Night Music” every night this week, just after 8 o’clock.
