On the 79th Anniversary of Kristallnacht, we remember tonight at 9PM with the Semer Ensemble

On November 9, 1938, the Nazis carried out a wave of anti-Jewish violence throughout Germany. Today, that date is referred to as Kristallnacht, or the “Night of Broken Glass” … from the windows of synagogues, homes and Jewish-owned businesses senselessly plundered and destroyed.  One of those businesses in Berlin was the Semer record label, a home for Jewish composers, songwriters, and performers.

Join us on the anniversary of Kristallnacht for a powerful radio documentary from Dan Rosenberg featuring Semer’s original vinyl recordings and the stories behind their creation and survival. Meet the man who embarked on a global mission to track down the entire musical collection, and hear the Semer Ensemble perform this music today. Tonight starting at 9PM ET on “A Little Night Music” with Kathleen Kajioka.
