It all started a decade ago. First during a wedding performance, then a memorable appearance on the popular Television series, Britain’s Got Talent. Everything changed for duo Charlotte and Jonathan in those heady moments. Soon the singers were recording a debut album with Simon Cowell’s record label.

Just 18 months later, Jonathan Antoine took the solo route and started a series of inventive concert themes and lush orchestral recordings that found the hearts of millions of fans. The albums and tours for BelieveGoing the Distance and now ChristmasLand have taken Jonathan Antoine around the globe.

ChristmasLand was recorded in 2020 and was a group effort that used all the wonders of technology during the heart of the pandemic. It was produced by Grammy award-winning Gregg Field remotely from Los Angeles, and features the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Choristers of Wellington Cathedral of St Paul, out of New Zealand, and the Tudor Consort, It was recorded across three time zones.

The album features a mix of classic and modern favorites, and this Sunday at 8pm Jonathan will be at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on the Exhibition Grounds for ChristmasLand Live. Regular and VIP tickets are available including Meet and Greet opportunities and signed copies of the deluxe album.

The New Classical FM’s Mark Wigmore sat down with Jonathan for a conversation that covers everything from his music and “Fantoines”, to Power Rangers and Gravy!
