“This year, we examine how profoundly interdependent various musical elements have always been, and the impact that changing even one single element has on another” said Johannes Debus, Co-founder and Artistic Director of BIGLAKE. “We are thrilled to present our diverse lineup of remarkable performances that truly celebrate the evolution of music.”

The festival launches with EVOLUTION OF THE PIANO on August 23rd, featuring keyboardist Ilya Poletaev, who will take audiences on a magical journey through time, performing on three different keyboard instruments in one concert, offering a rare glimpse into the history of the piano.

Other captivating festival highlights include:

LOUIS LORTIE PERFORMS CHOPIN – One of Canada’s finest and most celebrated pianists of our time, Louis Lortie, will dedicate this exhilarating and deeply moving concert to one of the most pivotal and beloved composers for piano, Frédérick Chopin.

BEETHOVEN MARATHON – Music enthusiasts will enjoy this three concert marathon featuring a star-studded lineup of pianists and violinists performing all 10 violin and piano sonatas in one day.

Jazz Enthusiasts will appreciate CARN DAVIDSON 9, featuring a unique nine piece ensemble led by Juno award-winning trombonist William Carn and saxophonist Tara Davidson, who will present a sneak peek of their fourth upcoming album.

FIDDLE EXTRAVAGANZA, featuring Alex Kusturok on fiddle and Jeremy Rusu on the keyboard, will have audiences on their feet and stomping to their uplifting rhythms and catchy tunes at the historical Christ Church of the Mohawks of Tyendinaga.

The season concludes with an enchanting OPERA GALA CLOSING CONCERT featuring esteemed rising stars (seven vocalists and two pianists) of the Canadian Opera Company Ensemble Studio.
