This week, Leontyne Price.
This star of the Metropolitan Opera got her start singing in the church choir in Laurel, Mississippi. With the help of famed Baritone Paul Robeson, enough money was raised for her to move to New York and study at the Juilliard School. She would become a star of the Metropolitan Opera and, over three decades, her powerful yet buttery sound would etch her into the highest rank of operatic legends.
…. Tune in just after 9pm to hear this extraordinary voice!
